Editorial Standards
TechlyGuide publishes practical tech tutorials and how-to guides for developers, students, and everyday users. This page explains how we create content, how we keep it accurate, and how to report errors.
How We Research and Test
Every guide starts with a real question or problem — something a reader would actually search for. Before writing, we:
- Reproduce the steps on current software versions (Windows 11, current browser releases, up-to-date AI tools)
- Verify menu paths, commands, and expected outcomes on real hardware when possible
- Cross-check official documentation and release notes for version-specific changes
- Note limitations, regional differences, and cases where a solution does not apply
We do not publish placeholder guides or copy steps we have not verified. If we cannot test a scenario, we say so clearly in the article.
How Articles Are Written
Our writers follow a consistent quality bar:
- Actionable steps — numbered instructions with specific UI labels, file paths, or commands
- Context for beginners — brief explanations of why a step matters, not just what to click
- Troubleshooting — common failure modes and how to fix them
- Worked examples — at least one complete scenario from start to finish where it helps
We vary article structure by topic. Comparison posts use tables; troubleshooting posts may lead with a decision tree; setup guides use checklists. We avoid repeating the same template on every page.
Updates and Reviews
Technology changes quickly. We review published guides on a rolling basis and update them when:
- Software interfaces or settings move to new locations
- A better method becomes the standard approach
- Readers report that steps no longer work
- Security or privacy best practices change
When an article is materially updated after publication, we show an updated date on the page.
Corrections Policy
We aim for accuracy, but mistakes happen. If you find an error — outdated steps, a broken command, or misleading advice — please contact us at contact@techlyguide.com or via our contact page. Include the article URL and what you observed.
We investigate correction reports promptly. Confirmed errors are fixed in the article; significant corrections may be noted in the update history.
What TechlyGuide Is Not
- We are not a news wire or republished content farm — guides are written for our audience, not scraped from other sites
- We do not publish auto-generated articles without human review and testing
- We do not accept payment to recommend specific products in editorial content
- We are not a substitute for professional IT, legal, or medical advice
Affiliate Links and Advertising
Some pages may display advertising (such as Google AdSense) after program approval. If we use affiliate links in the future, they will be disclosed in the article. Advertising does not influence which topics we cover or how we rank tools in comparisons.
